The crown’s shape and position are designed to match your natural teeth and to align properly for a comfortable bite. Next, the doctor designs your crown using special software on the CEREC system’s design unit. The scanner takes very precise images which are used to create a virtual 3D model of your teeth. The procedure begins with creating a digital impression of your mouth using our CEREC Bluecam digital scanner. With the CEREC machine, your final restorations are designed and milled right in the office while you wait, and there is no need for a second visit. The CEREC procedure is an efficient procedure that eliminates the need for the usual “temporary restorations” that patients are required to wear while their final restorations are being created by an outside lab. The CEREC machine allows the doctor to custom-design your crown and mill it out of a block of high-quality porcelain in our office.
